The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, was established in 1958 as the Central Institute of English (CIE). Offering shape to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's (India's first Prime Minister) vision to set up an establishment to grant quality preparing in English for instructors.

Committed to the investigation of English and outside dialects, it is the stand out of its kind in South Asia. It has been extraordinarily set up to direct propelled research and preparing in English and outside dialects (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Turkish) in the territories of Teacher Education, Literature, Linguistics, Interdisciplinary and Cultural Studies.

Courses offered: Courses in language, literary and cultural pedagogies, and research, in English and 11 foreign languages.
