Re: Eligibility Criteria for M Tech in IIT Madras

Online application form for IIT Madras M. Tech Admission 2017 will be available from first week of March onwards. Candidates qualified in GATE 2017 are eligible to apply for IIT Madras M. Tech Admission 2017. Non-GATE candidates are required to appear for a written test for availing admissions.

IIT Madras M. Tech Eligibility Criteria 2017:

One needs to have passed any one of the following qualifying degrees:

• Bachelor degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture

• Master degree in Chemistry/Life Sciences/Mathematics/Physics related subjects from educational institutions approved by UGC/Government

• Associate membership holders of professional bodies for admission into their parent disciplines from following:
1. The Institution of Engineers (India) (AMIE)
2. The Aeronautical Society of India (AMAeSI) (eligible only for aerodynamics, structures and propulsions streams)
3. The Indian Institute of Metals (AMIIM)
4. The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, including Polymer and Environmental Group (AMIIChemE)
5. The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (AMIETE)

Those with B. Tech from an IIT with a C.G.P.A. of 8.0 (7.5 for SC/ST) are exempt from Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) criteria.

IIT Madras M. Tech Selection Procedure 2017:
One will be given admissions on the basis of GATE scores.
One who has not studied in any IIT or do not have valid GATE scores will have to appear for a written test and a personal interview.
