Eligibility for Mass Communication in IIMC
Can you tell me about the eligibility requirement for IIMC or Indian Institute of Mass Communication PG Diploma Entrance Exam as I am planning to apply for it?

IIMC or Indian Institute of Mass Communication offers PG Diploma courses in Radio & TV Journalism, Advertising & Public Relations, Journalism (Hindi), Journalism (Odia) and Journalism (English). These courses are offered at its campuses in Delhi, Dhenkanal (Odisha), Aizawl (Mizoram), Amaravati (Maharashtra), Jammu (J & K) and Kottayam (Kerala) Eligibility Requirements Graduate in any discipline. Students appearing in final year of graduate examination may also apply for the entrance examination. Date of Birth: For general category candidates maximum 25 years; for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates, the maximum 30; and for OBCs it is 28 years. Reservation of Seats: As per orders of the Government of India Pattern for the Written Exam There is no standardised pattern for the written examination. One is judged on the following parameters: a) For Journalism Courses: (i) General Awareness, including understanding of social dynamics; interest in social history; awareness of public debates on matters of polity and economy; awareness about international developments influencing power equations in the world and their impact on India (ii) Aptitude & mental make-up, (iii) Language Capability and, (iv) Analytical and Comprehension Skills b) For Advertising and Public Relations: (a) General Awareness (b) Aptitude & mental make-up (c) Language capability (d) Analytical & Comprehension skills and (e) Brand awareness and recall (f) Quantification skills Exam Centres: New Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Kolkata, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Bangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Aizawl, Bhopal, Chennai (Tamilnadu), Jammu (J&K), Srinagar (J&K), Kochi (Kerala), Hyderabad (AP & Telengana), Ranchi, Ahmedabad and Raipur IIMC Centres: Dhenkanal (Odisha), Aizawl (Mizoram), Amravati (Maharashtra), Jammu (J&K) Kottayam (Kerala) |
