Eligibility Criteria

We are specifying here the subject-wise eligibility criteria to get admission to PhD course in your desired area:

Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D in Humanities and Social Sciences Program

Candidates should have achieved 55% marks or its aggregate marks in Master’s degree with Science/Commerce/Arts.

Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D in Science Program

Candidates should have achieved 60% or 6.5 CPI in Master’s degree with Design/Engineering/Technology.

Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D in Design Program

Candidates should have achieved 60% or 6.5 CPI in M.Des/M.Arch degree or ME/M.Tech degree.

Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D in Engineering Program

Candidates should have achieved 60% or 6.5 CPI in Master’s degree with Technology/ Engineering/Medical Sciences/ Pharmacy/ Veterinary Sciences.

IIT, Guwahati PhD Admission Selection Procedure

You will be called for written test and/or portfolio review/interview as per the norms of the institute.

Performance in GATE/ NET/ CEED/ INSPIRE and marks acquired by candidates in the qualifying exam will be also considered.
