The mission of the Intensive English Program at Georgetown University is to give quality dialect direction and social introduction to understudies who require English for their scholarly, expert or individual needs. The system underpins understudies with various dialect foundations and learning styles by helping them secure: The capacity to utilize English successfully when talking, tuning in, perusing and composing The capacity to convey in socially fitting ways A familiarity with the particular characteristics of American society in examination with their own and different societies SEMESTER AND SUMMER INTENSIVE PROGRAM SESSIONS OFFERED • Integrated and balanced classroom instruction at six levels, basic to academic bridge. • State-of-the art language and computer laboratories. • Small classes allowing attention to individual learning styles and needs. • Electives for special interests in business, academics, current events, and popular culture. • Orientation components including: o TOEFL study course o Guest lecture series o Pronunciation workshops and tutorials o University Application Program o Access D.C.
