Re: ERP Implementation in Hindustan Petroleum

As far back as the administration of India reported deregulation of the oil business in 2002, HPCL had attempted a Business Process Reengineering (BPR) study to prepared the organisation for post deregulation economic situations.

One of the real proposals of the BPR was the execution of a world class ERP framework. The usage of the ERP framework would empower the organization to meet the difficulties of the developing business sector situation.

Extend Parivartan is HPCL's drive to execute Oracle s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, an ERP arrangement. The execution covers every one of the modules of the ERP programming viz. deals and circulation, assembling, back and HR. Tweaked modules to suit HPCL forms have been created for worker pay and benefits and furthermore finance and both coordinated with fund and HR modules of the product.

Team Set Up and Implementation Partner

A multi practical group of 25 officers drawn from different utilitarian divisions was set up for experiencing point by point preparing on the JDEdwards ERP framework and take up the usage over the partnership, in 2000-01. This group quality was enlarged after some time particularly in the rollout stage.

After finishing of the preparation, the group archived the As-Is procedures of the partnership. The usage accomplice was chosen from the counseling accomplices of JDEdwards. The agreement for the Conference Room Prototype (CRM) and pilot usage was granted to Capgemini and Ernst and Young,.

CRP and Pilot Roll Out

The pilot implementation project was divided into various phases.

* Validation of as-IS processes

* Finalization of the technical architecture and the hardware/software requirements

* Finalization of interfaces/customizations

* Configuration & testing of the Conference Room Prototype (CRP) for business processes of the Corporation

* Roll out at the pilot locations
