The Excel Center is a unique public charter school that provides adults the opportunity to earn a Core 40 high school diploma and begin post-secondary education. College and Career Readiness Centers offer: • Leadership development and mentoring • Career exploration and counselling • Soft-skills and pre-employment training • Employment assistance and training • Resume preparation • College admissions guidance and counselling • Enrolment in pre-college programs for college credit and certification courses • College-level coursework • Financial aid counselling and scholarship research assistance • ACT and other test preparation • College application assistance/college placement • Vocational training placement The Excel Center curriculum has four goals: Teach the necessary content and skills to grant students a high school diploma Develop the higher skills needed for success in modern careers Teach specific courses in a career pathway to provide students with a certification or college degree Prepare students for success in life and for active participation in their communities Board of Directors C.
