FTDC or the Foreign Trade Development Center at the New Delhi was founded in the year 1991 as a pioneering institute in the area of foreign trade by a core group of economists, academicians and corporate thinkers.

Core Activities

The main activities of the FTDC’s include educational training programmes in Export -Import Management, Merchandising, Retail Management, Export Marketing, and Export Development through a series of structured practical oriented programmes.

This institute offers the following programs to the students –

It offers 3 major programmes; Diploma in Export-Import Management, Diploma in Merchandising Management, and Diploma in Retail Management.

The 4 month Diploma in Export-Import Management, is a job oriented programme, that intends to create managers and entrepreneurs with knowledge of export-import issues and the use of information technology to solve these.

Diploma in Merchandising courses at the institute provides a highly focussed and vocationally oriented courses for the period of 6 months study at the institute. This course covers a wide range of specialized knowledge and skills for students seeking a career in fashion buying, merchandising, marketing, vendor and inventory management.

Diploma in Retail Management courses of the institute aims at developing trained professionals for meeting the increasing demand in the Indian retail sector. The course of the institute focuses on analyzing retail markets, understanding customer relationship management, retail store operations and retail merchandising/ buying.

It also provides the courses of the Correspondence Course In Export-Import Management

FTDC also offers a 4 Month Diploma in Export-Import Management through correspondence for those who are either employed or those who cannot attend the classes on regular basis.

Course Fee

The fee for the course is Rs. 7000/- plus 10.3% Service Tax to be paid by the aspirant by the Bank Draft favoring Foreign Trade Development Centre, New Delhi

Admissions procedure –

Applications for admission into both the Alliance as well as Academic Programmes of FTDC need to be made at any of the Centres of the institute.
Please follow the steps below for all Academic Programmes offered by FTDC:-

Step 1: Decide on the programme you want to pursue to get the admissions to the institute.

Step 2: Download the FTDC prospectus and the application form from the web page of the institute.

Step 3: Fill the application in all respects and attach the requisite documents mentioned in the application along with the course fee by way of cash or a Demand Draft in favour of "Foreign Trade Development Centre" to be payable at New Delhi.

Step 4: Visit the nearest FTDC centre to get more details of the admission and the courses.

Step 5: Submit the application form with the requisite documents at the nearest FTDC
Centre to confirm the admissions.
