IBPS PO CWE is conducted every year to select eligible candidates to the post of Probationary officer by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Board in various participating Public Sector Banks across the country.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria


Nationality / Citizenship of Applicants:

One applying for IBPS PO Examination must be one of the following:

1. Citizen of India

2. Subject of Nepal or Bhutan

3. Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement

4. Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire,Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India


Candidates belonging to the category 2, 3, 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt of India in their favour.


Educational Qualification

One is required to hold a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

One must be on minimum 20 years of age to apply for this exam.


Other Eligibility

Computer Literacy:
Working knowledge of computer systems is necessary for the job.

Language Proficiency:
Verbal and written proficiency in official language of the State/UT is desirable. One must be able to read, write and speak the language.
