Well the Formula Student team of IIT Roorkee is a group of inter disciplinary engineering students.

It is involved in a unique project which aims to develop a Formula Style Race Car for an International collegiate design competition Formula Student

It is organised by IMechE (Institution of Mechanical Engineers).

In 2011, the team developed an IC Engine Vehicle and represented India in FSAE AUSTRALASIA - 2011 competition held in Melbourne, Australia

It became the first ever car from India to finish the 32 laps endurance race. The team also stood First in FUEL EFFICIENCY,.

Team IIT ROORKEE MOTORSPORTS is on another hunt after successfully completely their journey to FSAE Australasia.

They represent IIT Roorkee at Formula Student, UK 2013 in which they make a electric hybrid car.
