Gail (India) Ltd, the state-claimed gas transportation organization, will contribute Rs 2,500 crore to build the limit of its petrochemical plant in Pata, Uttar Pradesh, to 8,00,000 million ton for every annum (mtpa) in a few years.

Delhi-based Gail, which represents very nearly one-fifth of the nation's aggregate polymer generation, as of now has the ability to deliver 3,00,000 mtpa of ethylene and 3,10,000 mtpa of polymers - high thickness polyethylene (HDPE) and direct low-thickness polyethylene (LLDPE). The limit development to 4,10,000 mtpa is in progress and another HDPE plant with a limit of 1,00,000 mtpa is being set up.
