George Mason University is located in Fairfax, Virginia, United States It is the largest public research university in the Commonwealth of Virginia It was established in 1957 The School of Policy, Government, and International Affairs offers three programs of study at the doctoral level Biodefense Political Science Public Policy PhD Admissions Requirements Graduate application and fee One official transcript from all colleges and universities attended. A current resume Two letters of recommendation Statement of professional goals, not to exceed 500 word Writing sample (approximately 10-25 pages in length) such as a technical report, professional publication, or term or seminar paper GRE scores (taken within five years prior to date of application) Applicants with international academic credentials must also provide: Official transcripts, degree certificates or diplomas, and certified translations of the documents in English (if applicable) Proof of English proficiency: TOEFL, IELTS, or Pearson Test of English PhD Admission Deadlines Doctoral applicants can apply for admission in the fall semester, for either full-time or part-time study.
