Its vision is to "harness space technology for national development, while pursuing space science research and planetary exploration

Goals
Design and realisation of a Mars orbiter with a capability to survive and perform Earth bound manoeuvres, cruise phase of 300 days, Mars orbit insertion / capture, and on-orbit phase around Mars.
Deep space communication, navigation, mission planning and management.
Incorporate autonomous features to handle contingency situations.

Objectives
There are some who question the relevance of space activities in a developing nation..
They do not have the fantasy of competing with the economically advanced nations in the exploration of the Moon or the planets or manned space-flight
But they are convinced that if they are to play a meaningful role nationally, and in the community of nations
