Re: Government jobs for civil engineers being a student of 3rd year in civil

Sorry to say that B.TECH 3rd year Civil Engineering student are not eligible for
Government job .

After completion of B.TECH Civil Engineering course Students can appear in the UPSC exam which is carried out every year.

The PSC carries exams for government departments like Public work department or PWD.

B.Tech graduates can appear in the IAS, IPS as well as the IES civil service exam for getting jobs in the government sectors.

The Railway recruitment Board is another major recruiter of B.Tech Civil Engineers.

After completion of B.TECH Civil Engineering course applicants can get following job options :

Senior Design Engineer - Civil
Jr. Civil Engineer - Site Supervisor, Tore Assistant, Store Keeper
Civil Engineer - Transmission
Civil Engineer - Project Coordinator
Group General Manager - Civil
Technical Officer - Civil Engineering
Civil Engineer Foreman

Remuneration: -

Civil Engineers employed in government departments get their initial income around Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 12,000 while superiors can earn about Rs 20,000.

In private sector particularly in construction and designing field are getting more than Rs. 30,000 every month.

Lecturer/Professors in engineering colleges’ incomes are fixed by UGC.
