Exam Pattern

The Educational Testing Service (ETS) conduts the GRE exam ans it consists of 100 multiplechoice problems in 170 minutes.

Students score one point for every correct answer and lose a quarter of a point for every incorrect answer, so arbitrary guessing is costly.

The raw score out of 100 is converted to a scaled score out of 990, which roughly corresponds to a raw score of 85 or above and a percentile of 95
