The Department of Biotechnology was built up in the year 1996 as one of the Departments under Faculty of Science (now under Faculty of Life Sciences) to bestow quality instruction in the field of Biotechnology and to make prepared Biotechnologist. Division is directing courses at UG and PG levels including two year M.Sc. furthermore, five year Integrated UG and PG programs in Biotechnology notwithstanding Ph. D Program through Course act according to UGC directions.

The Department of Biotechnology has very much created office for, Microbiology Biochemistry, Molecular Biology Plant and creature Tissue society and Bioinformatics. The Instruments accessible incorporate PCR Thermal Cycler, Gel Documentation framework, stroll in chilly room, CO2 Incubator, Gas Chromatograph, Laboratory Fermenter, ELISA Reader and washer, Ultrasonicators, Fluorescent Research Microscope and so on.
