If you want to become Food Inspector in India, then you should first qualify the food inspector exam.

To appear in food inspector exam, you must have completed graduation in Agriculture, Food Technology, Pharmacy, Dairy Technology or Veterinary Science are eligible to appear for this competitive exam.

Procedure to become to become Food Inspector---

Step I-
- Qualify All India Food Inspector exam which is conducted by Union Service Public Service Commission.

Step II-
-Aspirants who possess any of the educational qualification given below are eligible to attend this All India Examination.

Education --
Must be Graduates in medicine with minimum one year training in food inspection
Bachelor’s degree in any science stream with Chemistry as compulsory subject
Or
Should have Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture / Public Health/ Veterinary Science/Dairy Technology/Pharmacy / Food Technology

Age--
-Age specified to attend this test is between 21 and 30 years for general candidates.
-Upper age limit specified for OBC candidates is 33 years and for SC/ST candidates is 35 years.

Nationality
-Only Indian Citizens can apply for this test.

Exam Pattern:

-There will be questions from technical subjects, English, Numerical Ability and General Knowledge.
-Candidates need to attempt all the questions in each section within 150 minutes.
-As there is negative marking, the candidates should give answers only if they are sure about it.
-Candidates need to answer technical as well as aptitude question.

Step III:
-Personal interview is there for the candidates who have qualified in the written test conducted for the recruitment of food inspector.
-The primary objective of this interview is to test whether the candidates possess adequate knowledge to take up the responsibility of food inspector.
-Candidates can expect technical questions which cover the areas of food technology. -As this is a personal interview, the attitude of the candidates will be also tested.

Step IV
Once candidates clear the interview, they will be absorbed into the role of Food Inspector.
