The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission conducts State Eligibility Test (SET) for determining the Eligibility for recruitment to the post(s) of Assistant Professor (s) in universities and colleges located within the State of Himachal Pradesh.


Exam date of HPSET 2016 was 24.07.2016

Paper-I - 10.00AM to 11.15AM

Paper-II - 11.30AM to 12.45PM

Paper-III - 2.30PM to 5.00PM


Examination Scheme:

-Paper-I (General Paper in Teaching Aptitude).

-Paper-II (Subject Paper).

-Paper-III Subject paper (in depth questions).




Examination fee and mode of payment:

General - Rs. 700/-

Other Backward Class (Non-Creamy Layer) As per the Central /State List of OBC available on the NCBC website: ncbc.nic.in - Rs. 350/-

SC/ST/Person with Disability (PWD-Gen, PWD-SC, PWD-ST & PWD-OBC) - Rs.175/-


Eligibility Criteria

Academic Qualification
The interested candidates must have scored at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from affiliated university/institutions acknowledged by University Grant Commission in Humanities (including languages) and social sciences, electronic science, computer science & applications, etc.

In case of reserved categories like SC/ST/PWD applicants required marks are 50% to apply

Applicants who are pursuing in Master’s degree programme can also apply T

SLET/ NET/SET will be remained minimum eligibility criteria for condition and appointment of Assistant Professor in universities/ institutions/ colleges.

Required age Limit- for SET there is no age limit.
