Human Resource Management in ONGC
Can you tell me about the Human Resource Management Excellence Award received by ONGC or Oil and Natural Gas Corporation in 2013? ONGC was conferred with Human Resource Management Excellence Award in the Navratna and Maharatna category at the PSE Excellence Awards 2013. ONGC CMD Mr Sudhir Vasudeva received the award on behalf of the Maharatna at the 4th Summit on India Public Sector Agenda - 2020 on December 16, 2013 at New Delhi presented by Mr TKA Nair, Adviser to Prime Minister and Mr O P Rawat, Secretary DPE. The award for HR Management Excellence are based on parameters such as company's performance management system, number of training days per employee, training expenses as percentage of total employee cost, succession planning, gender mix and innovative practices to improve HR management. ONGC’s training program 'Exponent' caters to executives across the organization – from GT Training to Proficiency Enhancement to Succession Planning – a 360 degree approach that is one of its kind in the Public Sector domain. The training facilities in ONGC are the best in India. It has been awarded the Randstad Award for being the most attractive employer in 2013 as well and speaks volumes about the HR management of the Maharatna.
