Re: IAEA Team to take a Close Look at Rajasthan Atomic Power Station

Group of specialists from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) landed at Rawatbhata in Rajasthan for completing an inside and out wellbeing audit of two units of the nuclear force station in the town. This is the primary operational wellbeing survey group (OSART) mission in the nation being led at the Union government's solicitation.

The group involves specialists from the atomic force plants of Canada, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden. The OSART mission will stay at the Rawatbhata plant till they audit it. The survey will check adherence to the atomic controller's security models and demonstrated great practices.

A Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) discharge said here that the specialists would have plant visits and interface with the staff. The NPCIL anticipated getting "straightforward and valuable" input, expressed the discharge.

Altogether, this is the primary such audit in India after the atomic mischance at Fukushima in Japan taking after the monstrous tremor and wave a year ago. Concerns have been communicated at the top level about the wellbeing of atomic plants in the nation in the wake of the harm created in Fukushima.

The discharge said the IAEA had been directing the OSART missions since 1982 and had composed 170 missions around the globe in this way. Units 3 and 4 of the Rawatbhata plant have been chosen for the OSART mission. Rawatbhata is arranged in Chittorgarh locale.
