The Indian Air Force is the air arm of the Indian armed forces. Its the World's 4th largest Airforce The Punjab and Haryana High Court in October proclaimed that the proposal for reducing the restricted zone around the IAF ammunition depot at Gurgaon from 900 to 300 metres could be done if the state government undertook removal of encroachments within the 300-meter area. The development took place during the resumed hearing of the petition filed in public interest against encroachments in prohibited zones around the IAF stations in Gurgaon and Faridabad. Recommendations were made for reducing the restricted zone from 900 meters to 500 meters around the Gurgaon. The High Court on a previous date of hearing was told that the area would, in fact, be decreased to 300 meters. A statement to this effect was made before the Division Bench by the Central Government. TNN The Central government submitted before the Punjab and Haryana high court that the restricted zone around Indian Air Force’s ammunition depot in Gurgaon has been reduced to 300 metres from 900.
