Indian Administrative Services (IAS) is one of most premier service of Indian civil services. As per your request, I am giving you eligibility criteria to apply for the IAS exam. IAS eligibility Criteria: Nationality: A citizen of India, or A subject of Nepal, or A subject of Bhutan, or A Tibetan refugee or A person of Indian origin Age Criteria: The Candidate age should be between 21 years to 30 years. 5 years age relaxations give to SC/ST categories students and 3 years age relaxations give to OBC categories students. Education Qualification: Candidate need to pass gradation degree in any discipline form recognized university. Candidate who are in final year or waiting for the results may also eligible to apply Physical Standards: Candidate need to be medically fit Number of attempts: General category 4 Physically handicapped belonging to general category 7 Other backward classes 7 SC/ST candidates Unlimited Selection procedure: Selection of the candidate depends on followings Civil services preliminary exam Civil services mains exam Interview Civil services preliminary exam syllabus Paper 1 (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs. Current events of national and international importance History of India and Indian national movement Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world Indian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc. Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc. General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that donot require subject specialization General science. Paper 2 (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs. Comprehension Interpersonal skills including communication skills Logical reasoning and analytical ability Decision making and problem solving General mental ability Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. –Class X level) English language comprehension skills (Class X level) |
