I want to become Indian Administrative Service IAS Officer so can you please tell me how many years of education required to become IAS Officer?

The Indian Administrative Service IAS is the premier administrative civil service of the Government of India. IAS officers hold strategic positions in the Union Government, States and public-sector undertakings.

After schooling 12th class, you have to complete graduation degree of three year duration in any field from recognised University.

Then you have to apply for civil service exam conducted by UPSC. The notification of the exam release in the month of May or June every year

After clearing pre exam you have to apply for Indian Administrative Service IAS Main Exam.

The final stage is the interview. The candidates who cleared the Main Exam are called for interview.

Then the final list of the successful candidates is prepared and the candidates who have secured very good rank out of 400-450(approx.) selected candidates are admitted to National Academy of Administration at Mussoorie to impart training to IAS probationers.

After completion of their training in various fields of administrative importance, they are posted as per requirements of the Central and State Governments.
