Re: IIT Bombay QIP

Indian Institute of Technology Bombay is a public engineering institute. It
was established in the year 1958.

It is the 2nd IIT to be established.

It is located in Powai, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

As you have asked about the QIP, I am giving you some info regarding it

The Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) was started by Government of
India in 1970. The foremost aim of the programme is to upgrade the
expertise and competences of teachers of the AICTE approved degree-level
engineering institutions, National Institutes of Technology (NIT) of the
country.

The programme is now being applied and observed by the National QIP
Coordination Committee, funded by AICTE.

The 8 QIP Centres (at the 7 IITs, & IISc) start the various activities listed
above.

Admissions to Master's and/or Ph.D. programs are also undertaken in
particular areas in additional 20 recognised institutions for M.Tech and 52
recognised institutions for PhD.

A large number of faculty members from AICTE-recognised degree-level
engineering institutions from all over the country have followed Master's and
Ph. D. degree programs.
