JAM is an examination that is conducted by IIT to select eligible ones for various M. Sc courses.

IIT JAM Mathematical Statistics Exam Pattern
-There question paper is divided into two sections.
-Section A contains objective questions and section B contains subjective questions.
-There are 30 objective questions and 10 subjective questions.
-The duration of the paper is three hours.
-Objective questions that are wrongly answered will be penalised and a mark will be deducted.
-Each objective question carries four marks.
-The 10 questions in section B might contain sub sections.
-The candidate is required to answer all the questions from both the sections.
- The total mark of the examination is 200 and the first section carry 120 marks and the second section carries 80 marks.
