The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India took an arrangement choice in 2002 to lead an All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) every year, getting rid of a large number of the expansive number of placement tests that were being directed till then by different organizations in the nation for admission to college degree programs in the orders of Engineering/Technology and Architecture/Planning. A Central Counseling Board (CCB) constituted by the Govt. of India composed admissions to UG degree programs in building, innovation and design in appreciation of chose foundations till 2012. From 2013 onwards, Central Counseling Board (CCB) and All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) has been renamed as Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) and JEE (Mains) separately. The CSAB for 2016 has been constituted with Director, National Institute of Technology Patna, as its Chairman.

By the request of Ministry of HRD, there will be joint advising for IITs/ISM/NITs/IIITs/GFTIs for the scholarly session 2016-17 moreover. Consequently, for 31 NITs, 20 IIITs, and 18 other Government Funded Institutes (GFTIs) list showed on JoSAA site (Josaa.nic.in) will concede hopefuls on the premise of their classification in JEE (Main)- 2016 to the principal year of Engineering/Technology and Architecture/Planning Programs through a unified seat distribution strategy, for the scholarly session 2016-17.

If there should arise an occurrence of any question emerging out of the seat designation process at any phase up to the last allotment of establishment and/or branch, the choice of Chairman, CSAB-2016 might be last and official. The purview for legitimate question, assuming any, will be restricted to the courts at Patna as it were.
