IIT – JEE (Joint entrance Examination) is the two tier examination for the engineering undergraduate admissions to the NITS and Centrally funded institutes as well as a number of leading private universities and institutes.

IIT JEE Entrance Exam 2014 Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates’ date of birth should be on or after October 1, 1989 (5 years relaxation for SC/ST/PwD i.e 1984)

Qualification
-The minimum academic qualification for appearing in JEE Exam is that the candidate must have passed in final examination of class XII or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination.
-Those appearing in class XII final or equivalent examination in 2014 may also appear in JEE Mains 2014 examination provisionally.
-Candidates must have passed 5 subjects in their Class XII.

Attempt
Candidates can attempt JEE Main for a maximum of three times.

Since the states of Maharashtra and Odisha have now joined JEE (Main) system from 2014 so the age limit, for admission to institutions in these states which were earlier admitting candidates based on their state level examinations, will be as per their past practice only
