Re: IIT JEE Minimum Qualification

Ya sure I will tell you eligibility criteria for IIT JEE (Mains) so that you can have idea and check it easily.

Eligibility
Candidates must have passed their Class XII examination or other qualifying examination in the year 2015 or 2016. OR

Candidates who are appearing for their Class XII examination in 2016 are eligible

Candidates must have studied at least five subjects in their Class XII or other qualifying exam.

Who is not eligible?
Candidates, who have qualified Class 12th/qualifying examination in 2013 or before as well as those who will appear in the said exam in 2017 or later are not eligible for JEE Main 2016

Candidates, who have passed Class 12th/qualifying examination in 2013, did not qualify in 2013, but passed in 2014 are also not eligible to appear for JEE Main 2016.

Criteria for number of subjects in Qualifying Examination
Candidates must have studied minimum five (5) subjects in Class 12th/qualifying examination in order to be eligible for JEE Main 2016.

Course Required Criteria based on Class 12th / Equivalent qualifying Examination
B.E/B.Tech 1-Language, 2-Physics, 3-Mathematics,4-Any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject), 5-Any other subject.With at least 45% (40 % in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) marks in above subjects taken together.

B.Arch./B.Planning Mathematics subject alongwith 50% marks in total including five subjects.

Provisions for Persons with Disabilities
The candidates with disability should fill in the type and percentages of disability correctly in the online application form for JEE (Main) 2016.

Only the candidates, who have 40% or more disability, will be provided Scribe/ Reader on the request of the candidate.

The candidate will have the discretion of opting his/her own scribe/reader or may submit the request to the centre superintendent for the same.

The centre superintendent will identify the scribe/ reader. In case a request is received from the candidate, he/she would be allowed to meet the scribe a day before the examination to verify the suitability of the scribe.

One hour compensatory (extra) time will also be allowed to the candidates with 40% or more disability irrespective of the fact that the candidate(s) is/are availing the facility of scribe/reader
