About the research park;
IIT Madras Research Park is an independent company promoted by IIT Madras and its alumni and was incorporated under Section 25 of the Companies Act 1956.

Facilities:
Phase I -Infrastructure Overview
IITMRP has been planned to have a built-up space of 1.6 million Sq.ft.
The First tower with 0.4 million Sq.ft. started functioning from March 2010.
Each floor plate is 36,000 Sq.ft and partitioned for 1 to 8 tenants.
Dedicated 25,000 Sq.ft of Incubation Area in the First Floor.

Salient Features- Phase-II
IITMRP Phase-II will have three blocks with a total built up area of 8.2 Lakh Sq.ft.
Each block will have Ground + 10 Floors.
A separate Multi Level Car Park (MLCP) with Ground +5 Floors is being built
The MLCP can accommodate about 730 cars and 653 Two Wheelers.
