On the fifth day of the placement season of IITs, five major companies visited IIT-BHU on Friday. About 400 students have been offered jobs in five days with the highest compensation being Rs. 2.02 crore.

According to Professor in-charge, Training and Placement Cell, IIT-BHU Prof. Anil Kumar Agarwal,
five major companies,
Reliance,
Vodafone,
Orbees Medical,
Freescale Semiconductor
and Career UTS, visited the campus on Friday, while 10 companies including Fire Eye, Oyo Rooms and Tata Motors had turned up on the fourth day on Thursday. "The placement process of fifth day is still on," said Agarwal.

According to placement sources, about 75 companies visited IIT-BHU in the last five days offering jobs to 400 students.
There are 1200 students, both undergraduate and post graduate levels, in IIT-BHU. Last year about 700 students were placed.
This year the placement season began on December 1 with a big offer of Rs. 2.03 crore that came from Oracle US. Another big compensation was of Rs 1.63 crore that was offered by Google Mountain View.

Besides, several multinational companies like Epic Systems, Microsoft Redmond, and Works Applications also offered attractive packages to students.

Among Indian companies were Hindustan Unilever Limited,InMobi, EdgeVerve, Browserstack, Nutanix, Snapdeal, and Flipkart. Agarwal is hopeful that the placement season would bring good job opportunities in greater number to students with increased packages.
