Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences ILBS is the only centre under the aegis of the Delhi Government to have an active liver transplant program.

At ILBS, they have a very capable team that treats and supports adult and paediatric patients in end-stage liver disease.

This includes pre and post transplant care.

They have offered living related transplantation services to liver patients and their living donors who have come to their Institute from all parts of the country.

Both the donor and recipient will be admitted to the hospital for a surgical procedure taking place at the same time.

The surgery can take anything from 12 to 20 hours.

The surgeon will remove the recipient’s old diseased liver and then replace it with the donated liver.

Post surgery, the stay in the hospital is about 30 days to be sure that the new liver is working.
