Re: Indian Engineering Services Examination date

Indian Engineering Services Examination is conducted by the Union Public Service commission. Here I am giving you the details of the same:

Eligibility:
The applicant should hold A Engineering Degree from a recognized university. The examination can be given in one of following branches:

Civil Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Age limit:
(as on 01 January 2014): Between 21 to 30 Years. A relaxation in the upper age limit is available as per government norms.

Important Dates
Opening Date for Registration: 22 March 2014
Closing Date for Registration: 21 April 2014
Date of Examination: 20 June 2014

Paper pattern:
The exam will consist of two parts i.e.
Written test of 1000 marks
Interview of 200 marks

Out of 1000 marks, 600 marks are allotted to objective type questions whereas 400 marks are alloted to conventional test.

This exam consists of three phases;
the first phase is allocated to General Ability paper that includes General English and General Studies, each of 200 marks each.

In second paper, there will be two objective technical papers, followed by two conventional technical papers. For each wrong answer, 1/3rd of the total mark allotted to the question will be deducted.
