The Indian Police Service (IPS) is one of the three All India Services of the Government of India.

The IPS was formed in the year 1948. The cadre controlling authority for the IPS is the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The IPS exam (UPSC CSE) will be held in three stages:

Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam
Civil Services (Main) Exam
UPSC Personality Test

Education Qualification

Any candidate who has completed graduation in any stream from any university recognized by the UGC or the Government of India or any foreign recognized university is eligible to apply for the exam.

Also, candidates who have appeared for the final year degree exam and awaiting results can also apply for the examination.
