The Bachelor of Design (B. Des) programme is aimed at creating professionals who can contribute to the highly dynamic and competitive world of Design.

Eligibility Criteria


A student must have passed 10+2 (any stream; eg. Science, Commerce, Arts, etc.) or equivalent OR 10+3 diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% aggregate marks obtained in the final examination to be eligible for the above-mentioned program.


A student appearing for the final examination of 10+2 grade or 10+3 Diploma program may also apply provided the results of the examination should have been declared by June of the admission year or prior to be eligible for the above mentioned program.


The student should possess Creative Aptitude & Skills necessary to pursue Design Education as well as adoptability to the situations, which the profession demands.

Students with the relevant portfolio would be preferred.

Admission Procedure for the First Year

For Indian Students

All Indian candidates are required to register and appear for Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET), which would be held on 1st Saturday of May of the admission year.

No student is entitled to seek admission to B. Des program of SID without a valid SET (Design) score. Validity of SET score is for one year only.
