Hey I am very nervous regarding my Interview for MBA. Can you just tell me what types of questions are generally asked and also tell me how to answer them??

Here I am giving you some Interview Questions with their answers that are generally asked during personal Interview for MBA admissions:

1. Tell us something about yourself.
This is the most common question which is generally asked so you should always be prepared to answer. While trying to answer this, you should include the following points:
Your educational & professional background, interests & hobbies,
family background.

2. Where do you see yourself after 5/10 years from now?
Another popular question that is generally asked in the MBA personal interviews. Be honest while answering this one.

3. What are your strengths & weaknesses?
This is the Trickiest question where many candidates are generally trapped by interviewer. You should be careful and make sure that your strengths & weaknesses dont contradict each other.

For example:
If you say that your strength is - giving attention to detail then at the just next time dont say that your weakness is that you can be careless at times. Your interview panel will be quick to spot such errors as your strength and weakness contradicted each other.

4. Why MBA?
Your answer might vary according to your background, choice, Qualification and many more reasons.
If you are a fresher then you could say that an MBA would polish your many skills as well as equip you with both the technical knowledge.
If you have work-experience, you can say that you could either be planning to switch industries or could be looking for more responsibilities in the same function.

5. Why do you want to join this B-school?
This question is generally asks to check your level of interest in and this is your best chance to impress them. You should collect information about the institutes history, its programmes, ranking, placement records, faculty members etc. Your answer should reflect that youve collected valuable information and done your homework well in which you are desired to pursue.

6. Questions about the Course you are pursuing/pursued
If youre pursuing any course then its expected that you know much about your subject. So its the question where you can impress them by good command over your subjects.

7. Questions related to your Profession
You should go through towards the job profile, key result areas, your organisation, its performance in the markets, your industry, your organisations competitors and more related things.

8. Questions about your Hobbies
If you have mentioned your hobbies that are genuine, then it will not create any problem for you. But if youve mentioned some other hobbies just to impress interview panel then its better to collect information related to your hobby.

9. Questions from your GD
Its quite possible that interview panel may ask questions from your Group Discussion. So be prepared to expect questions around your GD topic.
