Jaypee Institute of Information Technology was established in 2001 and is an institute of higher education, a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 in 2004 and currently conferring the Deemed to be University status.

It has 6 academic departments and offers programs in technical education at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level.

All undergraduate and postgraduate programs of the institute have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation of AICTE
