Age limit

For general category candidates appearing for JEE Main must be born on or
after October 1, 1991 in order to eligible for JEE Main 2016.

For reserved category candidates, they must be born on or after October 1, 1986 in order to eligible for JEE Main 2016.

Qualification required

Applicants must have passed or appearing in the class 12th with at least 5
subjects including the compulsory subjects Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics.

Applicants who have only studied 4 subjects in the class 12th exams are not
eligible to write the JEE Main 2016.

Applicants must have scored an aggregate of 50% in the compulsory subjects
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Number of attempts

Only three attempts are allowed to write JEE Main exam to every applicant.
