Pandit Janardan Rai Nagar established the 'Rajasthan Vidyapeeth' in 1937. In 1987 Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and the University Grants Commission granted it the status of a Deemed-to-be-University. Directorate of Distance Education of the Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University is granting new admissions for 2012 & 2013.
