Qualification:
Doctoral degree in Social Sciences (preferably Religious Studies/History/Literary or Cultural Studies)
Published work of high quality on Sikh Religion/Sikh History/Sikh Philosophy/Guru
Gobind Singh Studies. OR
Minimum of ten years of teaching experience at the post-graduate level in a University /College, and/or experience in research at the University/National level institutions.
Desirable:
Background in Sikh Studies (may be retired) who has worked on Sh. Guru Gobind Singh and fulfils requisite criteria.

Age: 55-70 years

Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 (PB4) + AGP of 10,000/-

Period of Appointment: 5 years

Duration of the Chair: Maximum of 5 years or until the incumbent attains the age of 70 years whichever is earlier and not exceeding 70 years of age.

Life, philosophy and work of Sh. Guru Gobind Singh and its relevance in the contemporary times;
Religious and cultural space of medieval Punjab with special reference to Sh. Guru Gobind Singh;
Historical Memory of Sh. Guru Gobind Singh's life, mission and work in subsequent periods
Role and place of Guru ki Kashi (Damdama Sahib) in the larger context of educational and literary leanings of Sh. Guru Gobind Singh;
Creation of a descriptive bibliographical documentation with reference to literary and socio-cultural studies related to Sh. Guru Gobind Singh;
Audio-visual documentation with special reference to Sh. Guru Gobind Singh's life and contribution in and around Bathinda (Malwa region of Punjab);
