The Andhra University department of journalism and mass communication came into existence in 1984 on the recommendations of four dignitaries viz.,

Prof Bashiruddin (Osmania university)
Prof C Mohapatra (Berhampur University)
Mr. G M Bhargava (Resident Editor, Indian Express), and
Mr. R Sampath (former Deputy editor, The Hindu).

Eligibility:
Bachelor Degree with 40% marks.

Admission Process:

1. Application for admission into Ist Year Degree should be made on the prescribed form obtainable from the college office on all working days on payment of Rs. 75/-. The candidate should fill in the application form in their own hand writing.
2. Candidates should submit the application forms along with certified photocopies of the following certificates.
3. Memo of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
4. Transfer Certificate from the institution where the student last studied.
5. Photocopy of SSC Memo
6. Bonafide certificate
7. Caste certificate (In case of BC / SC / ST - candidates )
8. Income certificate of the parent ( In case of BC / SC / STs)
9. Migration certificate (by those students coming from any university other than Osmania University). Seeking admission into II & III Year.
10. Admission will be in accordance with the rules and regulations of the O.U.
