Can you tell me in detail about the recruitment opened for JAG or Judge Advocate General Post in Indian Navy in Aug – Sept 2016? The post of Judge Advocate General in India is held by a major general who is the legal and judicial chief of the Army. The Indian Army has a separate JAG branch which consists of legally qualified army officers. Officers can either be commissioned directly into the JAG Branch or can be sidestepped from other branches, arms or corps. JAG officers provide legal help to the military in all aspects, in particular advising the presiding officers of courts-martial on military law. Indian Army opens recruitment of JAG Entry Scheme 18th course April 2017 Short Service Commission (NT) course for Law Graduates Men and Women. Applications are invited from married / unmarried Male and unmarried Female candidates for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army for Judge Advocate General Department. The Online Application will Open on 17th August 2016 and close on 15th September 2016 at 17:00 Hours. No of Vacancies: 20 (Men – 13, Women – 07) Age Limit: 21 to 27 years as on 1st January 2017 (Born not earlier than 02 Jan 1990 and not later than 01 Jan 1996 both dates inclusive) Pay & Allowances: All GCs/LCs will be given a stipend of ₹ 21,000/- p.m. On completion of training they will be commissioned in the rank of Lt and entitled to pay as admissible to the rank. Educational Qualification: Minimum 55% aggregate Marks in LLB Degree (three years professional course after graduation or five years course after 10+2 examination). The candidates should be eligible for registration with Bar Council of India/State. Candidate should be from a College/University recognized by Bar Council of India.
