KIIT began as a humble professional instruction establishment in 1992 in leased premises in Bhubaneswar. By 1997 (considered as the base year) it started graduate projects in Engineering and postgraduate projects in Computer Applications and Management. The astounding scholarly climate, quality workforce, adherence to strict scholastic thoroughness and plenty of other scholarly exercises prompted gift of college status to the establishment by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India in the year 2004 just inside six years (1997-2004) of its commencement.

KIIT, now, is a multi-disciplinary University regarded worldwide because of its rich instructive society of magnificence.
