Re: Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT Chemical Engineering
Established in 1969, the Department of Chemical Engineering is one of the most youthful in the University in Karlsruhe. Its creation was because of the regular interests of mechanical architects and characteristic researchers. In 1998, around 700 understudies are being told by 18 full time teachers, 15 senior instructors, and around 145 experimental staff individuals. The instruction of substance specialists in Karlsruhe goes back to 1928, when it turned into the principal German college to incorporate the investigation of "Chemie-Ingenieur" in the educational programs. The educational modules incorporates three principle bearings of study: a) substance building with an accentuation on material transformation and b) modern procedure building with an accentuation on the configuration of procedures, mechanical assembly and gear, and c) bioengineering/life-science-designing with an accentuation on natural procedures and their specialized application. In 1998, the Department consists of 6 institutes, with a varying number of divisions in each institute: • Engler-Bunte-Institut o Combustion Technology (Prof. Bockhorn, Prof. Zarzalis, Prof. Kolb) o Gas, Oil and Coal (Prof. Reimert, Prof. Schaub) o Water Chemistry (Prof. Frimmel) • Institute of Chemical Process Engineering (Prof. Kraushaar-Czarnetzki) • Institute of Engineering in Life Sciences o Food Process Engineering (Prof. Schuchmann) o Technical Biology (Prof. Syldatk) o Biotechnology (Prof. Posten) o Biomolecular Separation Engineering (Prof. Hubbuch) • Institute of Mechanical Process Engineering and Mechanics o Applied Mechanics (Prof. Willenbacher) o Gas-Particle-Systems (Prof. Kasper) o Process Machines (Prof. Nirschl) • Institute of Technical Thermodynamics and Refrigeration (Prof. Schaber, Prof. Oellrich) • Institute of Thermal Process Engineering (Prof. Kind, Prof. Wetzel) Contact Detail: Dekanat der Fakultät CIW/VT KIT Campus Süd Geb. 10.91 Kaiserstr. 12 76131 Karlsruhe E-Mail: dekanat∂ciw kit edu |
