Karnataka PGCET
I am planning to apply for Karnataka Examinations Authority PGCET Exam and want details about this exam. Can you please tell what the Eligibility Criteria to apply for Karnataka PGCET Exam also tell what the exam pattern and provide important dates related to this exam?

The Karnataka Examinations Authority conducts the Karnataka PGCET for admission to the M.E./M.Tech courses in the State of Karnataka. GATE qualified candidates are exempt from the entrance exam. Eligibility Criteria You must be from Karnataka and meet the domicile requirements as specified You must have passed B.Tech/B.E or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates) It is mandatory that all applicants must have studied in Karnataka for a minimum of seven years from Class I to the qualifying exam. You with valid GATE scores need not appear for Karnataka PGCET and will be given preference over the others during seat allotment Exam Pattern The exam will be held in pen-paper mode (OMR based). It will have a total of 100 objective type questions. Duration of the exam will be 120 minutes. The medium of the tests will be English only. Each question shall carry 1 mark, making the total to be 100. The questions will be asked from 4 sections, which are as follow – Section A – Proficiency in English Language Section B – General Knowledge Section C – Test of Reasoning and General Intelligence Section D – Quantitative Analysis Important dates: Online application form released on 24 May 2016 Application Fee can be deposited in the specified bank from 25 May 2016 Last date to fill & submit the online application form 12 June 2016 Last date to deposit the application fee in the specified bank from 10 June 2016 Admit Card was available 22 June 2016 Exam date of Karnataka PGCET 2016 2 July 2016 (2.30 to 4.30 PM) Provisional Answer Key published on 6 July 2016 (after 2.00 PM) Any objections in the key were submitted till 11 July 2016 (before 5.30 PM) Final Answer Key and Result released on 17 July 2016 KPGCET Counselling commenced from 2 August 2016 |
