Reading Comprehension - three passages and questions based on these passages to evaluate the ability to comprehend scholarly writing. World History - Modern Europe from French Revolution to World War II - Modern China from the Opium Wars to Mao Tse Tung - Modern Japan from 1850s to 1980s - History of America from 1760s to Cold War. History Ph.D. Entrance Examination Curriculum consists of two parts: Research Methodology and Histories of India, Karnataka and Modern World. Each part will have five units each, for a total of ten units. Ten multiple choice questions will be asked from each of the ten units for a total of 100 questions. Analytical Reasoning unit will follow the model of UGC NET test syllabus. Students can use the model questions provided in NET syllabus for what might be asked in this section. Reading Comprehension section will consist of selected passages from both theoretical readings and historical scholarship.
