Re: KAS Exam detailed information

Karnataka Administrative Services exam has two stages 1) Preliminary Examination (Objective type) and (2) Main Examination (written examination and Personality Test). Here are the details of this examination:

Eligibility:
The applicant should hold Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree awarded by a University established Law in India.


Age limit:
Every candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and not attained the age of
35 years as on the last date
Upper age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST and category I candidates.
Upper age limit shall be relaxed by 10 years for Physically Handicapped or Widow candidates.
Upper age limit shall be relaxed by 3 years for Other backward category candidates.


Paper pattern:

Preliminary Exam

PAPER I - General Studies - 150 Marks.

PAPER II - One Optional Subject - 300 Marks.

NOTE :- Total duration for each paper will be 2 hours.


Mains Exam

PAPER I - Kannada - 150 Marks.

PAPER II - English - 150 Marks.

PAPER III & IV - General Studies - 300 Marks for each paper.

PAPER V,VI,VII & VIII - Two Optional subjects - 300 Marks for each .
