Kerala Agricultural University having one of its Agricultural Research Station in Mannuthy , Thrissur , Kerala. This Station of university was started in the year 1957 as Rice Research Station.

Achievements of ARS station:

Centre developed an extra short duration red kernelled rice cultivar, hraswa maturing in 75 - 80 days.

Another cultivar Ahalya was also released for cultivation.

Mandate:

Lead functions are on rice for kole land management system and on coconut.

Verification functions include vegetables and organic farming.
