Jawaharlal Nehru University was established in 1969 by an act of parliament. It was named after Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister. G. Parthsarthi was the first vice-chancellor.
JNUEE required for admission to various UG, PG and doctoral courses. The written examination of JNU is conducted once in a year in the third week of May.
The M.A programme in Geography consists of four semesters spread over two years. In addition to other compulsory and a few optional courses, the two compulsory physical and socio-economic field based courses are conducted during the summer and winter vacations respectively.
