Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is a public institution established by the Government of India, located in Guwahati, in the state of Assam in India.

It is the sixth Indian Institute of Technology established in India.

Life At IIT Guwahati

The life is amazing at IIT Guwahati.

The sun rises here early than the rest of the country. At 4 in morning, the sunlight will greet you.

The weather is amazing thought the year. Not much hot and not too cold. Though, there is humidity in the period of July-September.

You can expect rain anytime. Carrying an umbrella is a must.

IITG has one technical fest in September called Techniche and a cultural fest in January called Alcheringa. Other than that, there are lot of events going on for freshers throughout the year. Take part and enjoy the programmes.

There are various clubs viz. Dance club called cadence, music club called octave, photography club called montage, movie club called lumiere, astronomy club called equinox etc. Join any of your interest and explore them.

Sports facilities are superb. Table tennis, lawn tennis, badminton, basket ball, volley ball etc are always available at your doorstep. There is a sports ground for athletics where you can jog around in your free time.

IITG has four lakes in the campus and hills. There is a view point where you can climb and enjoy the enigmatic beauty of the long spread campus. Or you can just sit beside the lakes and enjoy the cool breeze.
