Lower Division Clerk in SSC
Can you tell me in details about the exam conducted for the selection of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) applicant in India by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) as I am thinking of applying for the post?

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts recruitment for the post of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) in India. A candidate must have passed the matriculation exam or its equivalent from any recognized Board. Age Limit: • Candidates age should not more than 45 years • This age limit is relaxable up to a maximum of 5 years for SC/ST candidates • Age relaxation as per rules Pay Scale: • Pay Band-I(Rs.5200-20200/-) with Grade Pay of Rs.1900/- Selection Process: • One is selected on the basis of the performance in the Written Exam and Typing Test. • One have to pass the Type Test at minimum typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi on Computer Scheme of Examination Written Examination: The written examination consists of the following tests- Paper I Paper I consists of following sections. • General Intelligence and Reasoning - It has both verbal as well as non-verbal type of questions. It may include questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem- solving, analysis, judgement, decision-making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, and arithmetical reasoning, arithmetical number-series. • Clerical Aptitude - This test is designed to test the candidate’s intelligence and aptitude. • English Language - This test is designed to test the candidate’s comfort level with the language. • Numerical Ability - Questions are designed to test the arithmetical computation of numbers, decimals and fractions. • General Awareness - This test is designed to check the general knowledge and the general awareness of the candidate. Paper II It consists of a typewriting test. Typewriting Test The typewriting test will consist of one paper on running matter of 10 minutes duration. It is of a qualifying nature where the speed for English is 30 WPM and for Hindi it is 25 WPM. Those candidates who qualify are eligible to be recommended for appointment. |
